Greensboro’s trendy consignment store Plato’s Closet returns this year for the third tme as a sponsor for the Kirkwood 5k and BackPack Beginnings. The store is a great way to save money and make money when it comes to clothes. They take gently used clothing and offer for sale the latest trends from top brands at affordable prices.
This May, Rena Milroy, the previous manager of the Greensboro store and a Plato’s Closet veteran of 12 years, has become the owner of the local store. What an accomplishment and what dedication!! That dedication carries over to their commitment to BackPack Beginnings and the K5K. This year eight employees will be participating in the race- that may be the highest participation rate among sponsoring companies so far this year!
Beyond the K5K, Plato’s Closet has been involved with BackPack Beginnings through Grimsley High School as well. According to Rena, they have several students that were involved with the program and Plato’s Closet accepted food donations through the store on their behalf. Rena adds that they are a “locally owned franchise and like to support the community, especially when it comes to things that directly affect our local teenaged customers and employees.” This is a company with its heart in the right place. So if you get a chance, swing on by Plato’s Closet to thank them for all their support by supporting them.
