The Kirkwood 5k and BackPack Beginnings are honored to welcome Le Bleu to its list of sponsors this year. Le Bleu is over a decade old, getting its start as the official water of the Carolina Panthers! David Worth and Shamrock is responsible for the Triad distribution of Le Bleu bottled water. The company aims to provide “THE highest quality and most pure water available on the market today to homes and businesses in the Triad.” Now that we are all aware of the impurities found in regular water, pure bottled water becomes more and more essential. Especially to a runner, keeping hydrated with the right stuff is pivotal to a successful run!
This is the first year that the company has been directly involved with the K5K, however its employees have been involved in supporting BackPack Beginnings over the past several years through other opportunities. They were able to come aboard the sponsor list after being approached by Worth family friends Evan Logan and Parker White. The family itself, being former Kirkwood residents, had participated in the race for several years, but are excited to be able to officially support the race and provide hydration! Worth added that he hopes “Le Bleu water is one thing that contributes to the overall quality of the event and makes it successful for everyone involved.” He also complimented how well ran the race is by Mrs. Logan and Mrs. White, and that that is also part of the draw for why they chose to become involved beyond the personal level.
David will be running the race this year, along with his kids and wife. Several other Le Bleu and Shamrock employees will also be coming out for the run. Worth also suggested that “you can break your PR this year if you drink Le Bleu!” But all joking aside, he shared that he was looking forward to “having a great time with a great community, and that the company was really thrilled to join the effort!” So, post-race, if you spot David or his family, be sure to offer him a cheers of some nice cold Le Bleu water!
